WorldSkills Champions Forum 2014

Twenty-three Champions from 13 different countries came together in Lucerne, Switzerland to discuss the ways in which they can be engaged with WorldSkills beyond the Competition. Through a variety of interactive sessions, Champions learned how to be a WorldSkills spokesperson by spreading WorldSkills key messages, improve their interview and presentation skills and to be involved in an official capacity at the Competition level. Champions were also introduced to the WorldSkills Foundation and how to design, write and present a project plan.

“Following the Competition, we felt there was a lack of engagement, involvement, continuation and purpose as a Champion,” said Victor Simon from France who competed in WorldSkills Leipzig 2013 in Manufacturing Team Challenge. “The development of the Champions Trust will help keep our passion alive and growing into the future.”

What is WorldSkills?
WorldSkills is a skills competition, jobs and careers event held every two years. The next one will be in 2015 in São Paulo, Brazil.

Can anybody visit the WorldSkills Competition?
Yes, everybody who is interested in the Competition, can come and visit WorldSkills São Paulo 2015.

How can I take part in WorldSkills?
In order to take part in the Competition, you would first have to start training on one of the 46 skills: Convince your instructor or your boss and use your skills to qualify for the national team.
